Three Days Tour of  Khevsureti (shatili)

  Private Tour Introduction:

 On this three days private tour we will see Khevsureti,  one of the most isolated provinces of Georgian highlands.  Destination of our tour is the most famous part of Khevsureti – village Shatili – famous because its original medieval architecture, but beside Shatili tourists will see many other places, enjoy unspoiled nature and feel like time travelers to the deep meddle ages.

 On the way will pass through  Pshavi, a one of the ethnographic region of Georgia known with its beautiful nature and brave people, who had been known as fierce warriors throughout history.

 We will enter into Khevsureti at village Korsha, then go up the steep pass of Datvisjvari, highest point of our journey. Continue the trip to see Lebaiskari and Kistani Fortress and arrive in the village of Shatili in the evening. 

 Next morning will get ready to go up to the village Ardoti, on the way will stop at abandoned village Anatori and Mutso village, located 1880 m above the sea level. Will return back to Shatili later in the evening.

 We will drive back to Tbilisi on next day, will stop at Ananuri fortress by the Jinvali water reservoir and full of excitement arrive back to your hotel.

 Tour Highlights: 

 We will pick you up from the hotel in Tbilisi and take off to Khevsureti, possibly the most mysterious region in the Greater Caucasus. Some inspiring medieval cultural monuments – castle-towers, ritual places, and tombs –  are still preserved in this picturesque region of Georgia.

 On the way we will pass through Pshavi, neighboring region of Khevsureti and enjoy picturesque beauty of the mountains covered by forests. 

 The first village we will stop in Kevsureti, is Korsha, there is a very interesting ethnographic museum made by means of the locals  where villagers have preserved antiques from their homes.

 Continue our trip through Datvisjvari pass, from where opens unique view of Aragvi and Argun gorge, photo stop on the pass. 

 We will drive to abandoned village Lebaiskari, where we can explore the medieval watchtower, then go to Kistani fortress and finally we reach famous medieval village Shatili, which is located on the bank of Argun river in a picturesque gorge. Will stay overnight in Shatili at the local guesthouse.

 Next morning, after breakfast will get ready to explore more of Khevsureti, we will drive to village Anatory, which has been abandoned for very long time,then visit to village Mutso – another medieval village, hike to Mutso fortress – located on the rock and surrounded by towers. And the last village we can approach by car is village Ardoti, hike to the village and drive back to Shatili. Overnight in Shatili.

 We will drive back to Tbilisi on the third day, will make a stop at Ananuri Architectural complex, which used to be a residence of Dukes of Aragvi region. Complex featuring churches and towers dating back to the XVI-XVII cc. is beautifully overlooking to Jinvali reservoir.

 We will drop you off back to your hotel full of emotions and impressions.
