On this two days private tour we will travel to East Georgia region – Kakheti, we will see:
Telavi – historical city in Kakheti province.
Ikalto Academy – from 12th century.
Alaverdi Cathedral – an elegant church of 11th century with fragments of frescos from 11th up to 17th centuries.
Tsinandali estate founded by famous public figure and poet Alexander Chavchavadze in19th century.
Gremi architectural complex of 16 -17th centuries.
Nekresi Monastery – 4th – 6th Centuries.
Sighnagi – City of Love.
Bodbe Monastery – 9th Century.
David Gareja Monastery – founded in 6th Century.

Tour Highlights:
We will have round trip of Kakheti region. Start the tour by visiting Telavi, historical city and the center of Kakheti province, will drive to Ikalto Academy from XII century; visit the elegant fortified Cathedral of Alaverdi built in XI century. Afterwards will drive to Tsinandali estate with the first European style winery in Georgia founded by Alexander Chavchavadze in XIX century. Wine favorites can tase superior Kakhetian wine. Drive to Gremi Architectural complex of XVI-XVII centuries with frescoes of the same period. Will also drive up to Nekresi Monastery, which contains one of the oldest churches in Georgia from IV century.
We will stay overnight at Kvareli. Will continue our journey next day to Sighnaghi, City of Love, where we walk around the town, visit museums, wine shops; Then drive to Bodbe monastery, which according to the legend is burial place of St.Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity at 4th century. from Bodbe we will continue to 6th century Lavra Cave David Gareja Monastery, which is located on the half-desert slopes of Mount Gareja.
Return back to Tbilisi.
